Which format CV is best suited to your needs?

CVs will be at the optimum length for you according to the information you provide. You will require either a chronological or skills-led format and this will be decided when we have your full details in front of us.  Current trends and preferences in CV presentation, the type of work you do, your experience and qualifications and your career aims are all factors to be taken into consideration in order to present your history and potential in an appropriate way and to maximise the impact of the CV.

We offer three main formats aimed at different levels of experience in the job market.

Starter
This model is designed for the school leaver, graduate or junior employee, who needs to emphasise qualifications and personal qualities and whose experience may be limited or confined to temporary contracts or work placements. Personal details, qualifications and vocational training will normally be placed on the first page, summarizing your skills and personal attributes and giving a potential employer a full picture of your capabilities. A personal profile will be constructed to add impact to the CV, lifting it away from the usual mundane recital of facts and figures and bringing you to life as a person.

Progressive
This model is appropriate to people who have established a career path and wish to demonstrate career progression, career achievements and readiness for new challenges and added responsibility.  You will need either a chronological or skills-led approach, or perhaps a combination of both, depending on your circumstances, experience and career history.

Executive
This model is exclusively designed for the senior manager or executive, who wishes to project his/her many skills, achievements and experience in the best possible light. The aim is to present what can be very complex information in a straightforward and concise manner so that it can be easily absorbed and understood by the reader. There can be a tendency in CVs of this calibre to over-elaborate, and our aim is to 'walk the tightrope' effectively, highlighting all essential information whilst avoiding unnecessary detail.
